Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to any server?
No. All compression happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your images are never sent to any server. They stay on your device at all times.
What is the WhatsApp image size limit?
WhatsApp compresses images automatically when you send them, but files above 16MB are rejected entirely. For best quality on WhatsApp, keep images under 1MB. Our WhatsApp preset targets exactly this.
Will compression reduce image quality?
At Medium quality (72%), most people cannot see any difference. At Low quality, the file becomes tiny but you may notice some softness. High and Max quality settings reduce size gently with no visible loss.
Can I compress multiple images at once?
Yes, select up to 20 images at a time. Each is compressed individually. You can download them one by one or use Download All to get all compressed images in one go.
Which format should I choose — JPEG, PNG or WebP?
JPEG is best for photos and gives the smallest size. PNG is best for screenshots, logos or images with text since it keeps sharp edges. WebP gives the smallest file of all and works on modern phones and browsers. Leave it on Auto if unsure.
